Twin Flames build bridges across cultures, continents, and styles. Chelsea June (Algonquin, Métis, Cree, Settler) and Jaaji (Inuk from Nunavik and Mohawk from Kahnawake) have been making music together since 2015 and have collected over 40 music nominations and awards. With a seamless mix of English, French, and Inuktitut, they weave together storytelling, harmony, and belting vocals to convey a message of unwavering celebration and hope.
The duo advocates for language revitalization and preservation, and are passionate about including the Inuttitut language (a dialect of Inuktitut) in their songs. In 2019 they wrote and recorded “Human”, UNESCO’s official song celebrating the International Year of Indigenous Languages. On stage, using Indigenous spirit flutes, traditional drums, and western instruments they create a perfect blend of sounds that that illuminates and speaks to the human experience. Audiences are drawn into their world of musical magic, where haunting harmonies meet profound storytelling.
